Banke's seven rural municipalities sign agreement with Red Cross to provide free blood

Banke's seven rural municipalities have struck an agreement with Nepal Red Cross Society, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, and Pokhara in order to provide free blood to its residents. The rural municipalities have allocated a budget for the drive that aims to save the lives of patients needing blood, it has been said.

Arrangements have been made for providing free blood based on the official identity card provided by the respective rural municipality, said the Society President Narayan Kumar Shrestha.

For this campaign, Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality provided Rs 1 million to the Society, Gajuri Rs 500,000, Jwalamukhi Rs 500,000, Khaniyabas Rs 545,000, and Gangajamuna Rs 300,000. Similarly, Tripurasundari Rural Municipality provided around Rs 300,000 and Rubivally Rs 200,000.

"Those in need of blood need not pay charges for blood in the days to come. However, they need to get the identity card for it," he said.
