Jumla DAO destroys one quintal rotten buffalo meat

District Administration Office, Jumla, seized and destroyed one quintal of decayed buffalo meat and fish from different shops.

A market monitoring team led by Nandaram Chaulagain, Assistant Chief District Officer (CDO) found that the traders in the district were selling rotten and sub-standard meat. The monitoring team seized rotten meat and fish from four shops that were openly selling sub-standard meat informed Assistant CDO Chaulagain.

The monitoring team inspected the fresh house, meat shop and grocery stores operated in Bharatiwada, Karkiwada, Kalekholi, and airport line's shop. 

"We have destroyed one quintal buffalo meat and eight kilograms of fish seized from three shops," Chaulagain said.

Earlier, the assistant CDO Chaulagain had issued a warning to the traders not to sell the rotten meat.

The Chief of Food Technology and Quality Control Division, Amritsuman Bhusan informed that six meat shops and 18 grocery stores were inspected by the monitoring team. The destroyed meat and fish were worth Rs 69,740.
