Pharmacy owner arrested in Morang

Police in Morang district on Sunday afternoon arrested a pharmacy owner on the charge of medicines black-marketing from Biratnagar Metropolitan City-15.

The arrested has been identified as Rabi Kumar Rajak (35), a resident of Biratnagar Metropolis. Rajak owns Janata Medical Store.

He was black-marketing by storing various medicines and medicine shells at his residence. Acting on a tip-off, joint security personnel deployed from Morang-based District Police Office (DPO) and Rani-based Area Police Office nabbed him. They also seized medicines used as physician's sample, medicines related to heart ailments, and painkillers. The police also recovered antibiotics, injections, 46 cartons of cough syrup for children, and sanitiser.

He has been charged under the Black Marketing and Social Crimes and Punishments Act (2032) and further investigation is underway, informed DPO-Morang.
