A full bench of the Supreme Court will conduct the hearing on Kaligandaki Diversion Multipurpose Project now as the opinions of the two Judges differed.

Justice Hari Prasad Phuyal has put forth his views not to halt the project while Justice Prakashman Singh Raut has issued an interim order to immediately stop the project.

As the Justices' views differed, the issue would be taken to the full bench as per Rule 23 (2) (A) of the Supreme Court's Regulations, 2064 BS.

Prior to this, Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JBR's single bench had issued an interim order on July 13 not to proceed with the project ahead. Likewise, Justice Tej Bahadur KC's single bench had issued a show-cause order on July 7 seeking a written response over the case.

In the dispute, both sides were invited to the SC for discussions on July 19. As the views of Justices Raut and Phuyal differed over the Kaligandaki Diversion Multipurpose Project, hearing of the issue would be conducted in the SC's full bench.
