Senior citizens should be respected: CM Pokharel

Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Krishna Chandra Pokharel, has said that senior citizens are the source of experience.

In a message on the occasion of the 31st International Day of Older Persons, Chief Minister Pokharel opined that all should respect parents who have acquired skill, experience, and knowledge by going through ups and downs in a long period of life.

He shared, "Experience of senior citizens is very exemplary for nation-building. I express commitment that Gandaki Province government is always ready to build a civilized society by protecting and promoting rights of senior citizens."

The message reads that arrangement of social security has been made as well as the government has also been running senior citizen insurance programme in order to make senior citizens' life easy.

It is mentioned in the message that the responsibility towards parents would be fulfilled only if the social norms that senior citizens should be respected and managed by their children could be changed into reality.

CM Pokharel appealed all to make senior citizens' life happy and dignified.
