A woman was killed when a wild elephant attacked her at Chandragadhi community forest in Bhadrapur Municipality-10 in Jhapa district.
The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Latumai Mardi of Birtamod Municipality-8. Mardi along with her husband Suka Lal had gone to the forest to collect vegetables, said the police. Her body was found in the local Seti river. However, Suka Lal escaped the attack unhurt, said Rakesh Thapa, spokesperson for the district police office.
