CPN UML has directed its lawmakers to refrain from voting in favour of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

The CPN UML has called on its leaders and cadres to actively contribute to party unity.

In today's Standing Committee meeting of the party held at Lalitpur-based Tulsilal Memorial Foundation, it has been called to actively contribute to party unity rather than involving in groups, saying possible initiatives have been carried out to save party unity, said Party Spokesperson, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali.

The meeting also urged them to stand firm against the party split. Saying some friends are making preparation to leave the party, Gyawali requested them not to do so.

He accused the parties in the ruling coalition of not working as per the purpose established for the same.

The UML Spokesperson opined, "The government ended the Parliament session as still many bills that are under consideration at the House have to be finalized and discussion held on many issues related to public concern."

He added this is not even in line with the commitment of the common minimum programme issued by the coalition government.

The meeting also drew the government's attention to bring Nepalis living in Afghanistan back home, stated Gyawali.
