Thousands of supporters took part in the rally held to celebrate the Parliament's reinstatement ordered by the Supreme Court on Tuesday. The court overturned the government's move to dissolve the HoR and delivered the verdict in favour of the reinstatement of the House of Representatives (HoR) and issued an order in the name of the government, the President, the Prime Minister and Speaker of HoR to summon the meeting of the Federal Parliament within 13 days

Upon the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, President Bidya Devi Bhandari on December 20 had approved the dissolution of the Federal Parliament.

The leaders, cadres and supporters including All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) formed a procession that made its way from Ratna Park Shanti Vatika via Bag Bazaar, Putalisadak and Pradarshani Marga to Rastriya Sabha Griha and held corner meeting, according to ANNFSU central member Mahesh Shrestha.

He said the party held the rally to mark the victory day as the Supreme Court delivered the verdict in favour of the sovereignty of the democratic republic and people.

It has been noted that the NCP won a majority of the seats in the 2017 elections, but split into two factions as the rift widened as a consequence of feud between co-chairs Oli and Dahal.

Meanwhile, no political party in the country holds a majority to form a new government, which is likely to lead to a political crisis.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has not made any public comments yet.
