The 5.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Bajura district on Tuesday has completely displaced 42 families.

Families from Chhayanat Rara Municipality-11 in the district, who were displaced by the landslide that occurred last September.

As many as 1,500 houses were damaged by landslides and floods triggered by incessant rainfall occurred for the past few days.

More than 800 families have been displaced due to the flooding.

Acting Prime Minister Bal Krishna Khand pledged to make efforts to declare emergency in Baitadi, Bajhang, and Dadeldhura districts hardest hit by flood and landslide.
