The Election Commission (EC) has submitted a report on the April 23 by-election of the House of Representatives (HoR) before Acting President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav.
In view of the ongoing by-election of the House of Representatives (HoR), the Election Commission (EC) has sought clarification from Madhesh Province Chief Minister, Saroj Kumar Yadav, for violation of the election code of conduct.
The Election Commission has published the names of 74 candidates contesting last year's November 20 parliamentary election but not submitting the details of the election expenses within the stipulated time.
EC has directed the candidates of November 20, 2022, House of Representative (HoR) election to make public their expenses incurred in the election within a week and submit their details in the concerned districts' election offices.
The Election Commission submitted the report, including the result of the presidential election, to President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Friday. The election for the new President was held on Thursday.
EC has said, of the total amount allocated for holding elections to the members of the HoR and Province Assembly, around Rs three billion would be sent back.
