Marshyangdi River

A suspension bridge in Chame, district headquarters of Manang, was swept away on Tuesday evening by the flood in the Marshyangdi River.

The district administration office has asked the settlements on the banks of the Marsyangdi river to be highly cautious against flooding.

People’s movement has been curtailed as the flood in Marshyangdi River has damaged the suspension bridge connecting Gorkha and Tanahun districts.

A JCB dozer got trapped in a motorable bridge over the Marshyangdi River at Chame.

Water has started flowing again in Marshyangdi River after it was blocked due to the debris collected in the river because of the floods and landslides.

Security personnel have still not been able to reach the flood and landslide-affected areas of Naso Rural Municipality in Manang.
