Rice Production

The area for the rice cultivation has declined due to plotting and erosion of land, but the productivity is on rise.

Most of the farmers in the country including the province are largely dependent on rain-fed farming.

Rice production in the current fiscal has significantly shrunk and has reached the lowest in the past five years.

Province 1 will implement a project to strengthen rice seed production, supply, and quality control system.

One hundred percent rice transplantation has taken place in Karnali Province this year as against 98 percent last year.
