4 metric tons of waste collected from Bagmati river

Four metric tons of garbage has been managed during the Bagmati river cleaning campaign underneath the Buddhanagar Bridge on Saturday. It was the 457th week of the Bagmati Cleaning Campaign.

Minister for Culture and Tourism of Bagmati Province Dipendra Shrestha also participated in the clean up. Campaigners including Uddhav Prasad Timilsina, chair of the Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee and Megh Ale, chair of the river conservation society also took part in the cleaning, according to one of the campaigners Kishore Singh Shahi.

Likewise, employees of Kathmandu Drinking Water Limited, Kathmandu Metropolitan Environment Department Teku, Bagmati Garbage Elimination Consumer Society, Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee and the locals joined the noble initiative.

Similarly, the river bank area under Balkumari Bridge has been cleaned in the 256th week of Manohara cleaning campaign. Campaigner Chandra Dangal informed that a vehicle-full of garbage was deployed from the area.
