4 working papers to be presented at Judicial Committee National Conference

Four working papers would be presented at Judicial Committee National Conference going to be held in Kathmandu from March 29. The Kathmandu Metropolitan City is organizing the two-day conference.

KMC Deputy Mayor and Coordinator of Judicial Committee, Sunita Dangol, said Indu Tuladhar would present a working paper regarding the concept of the judicial committee, the legal provision relating to the judicial committee, the jurisdiction of the judicial committee on justice delivery, and its exercise.

Similarly, Dr. Sarita Khanal would give a presentation on the judicial decisions of the judicial committee and the process to be adopted mandatorily for the same.

The third working paper is related to the reconciliation process in local levels' dispute resolution and its promotion. Ram Krishna Kafle would present it.

Likewise, the institutional mechanism for justice delivery and its overall process is the fourth theme to be discussed at the conference. The head of KMC's Law, Justice, and Human Rights Department, Basanta Acharya would present the working paper on it.

There would be a participation of all 753 local levels including KMC in the conference. Deputy-Mayor Dangol shared, "We have requested coordinators of judicial committees of all local levels. We have also asked to send a judicial committee member if the coordinator is unable to participate in the conference."

The conference is going to be organized with the objective of exchanging experiences of justice delivery at all local levels.

There is a plan to form a national, province, and district-level network of the judicial committee.
