The district court of Kathmandu has sentenced cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane to 8 years in prison, who was found guilty of rape. He has also been ordered to pay Rs 5 lakh compensation to the victim. The order was given by the bench of Justice Shishirraj Dhakal. Sandeep Lamichhane's lawyer, Sarojkrishna Ghimire, has informed that he will appeal against this order in the Court of Appeal.
