The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) hosted a cultural program in the Pashupati area on the occasion of the 28th KMC Day.
Various bands and cultural dances were performed at the program held on the Pashupati temple premises in KMC, ward 8.
On the occasion, various clubs including Sandhya Library and Sirjansheel Youth Club performed dances with the band. Ancient cultural glimpses were also presented in the Pashupati area on the same occasion.
Highlighting the values of Kathmandu as an established cultural city in the globe, KMC deputy mayor Sunita Dangol said support from all sides was necessary to conclude the marking of the Day.
Also on the occasion, Dangol expressed her commitment to engaging in organized efforts to preserve each procession and festival as well as Dabali (public sphere) where such cultural events are organized.
KMC ward-8 chair Ashaman Sangat also underscored the need to preserve the cultural processions and festivals by knowing their importance.
Also present on the occasion were the province assembly members and elected people's representatives from KMC.
The KMC day has been marked on Mangsir 29 (December 15) every year.
