Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand has suggested carrying out the government employees’ responsibilities and evaluations based on their performance and merit rather than recommendations.

At an event organised at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) today to welcome the new secretary at the MoHA and bidding farewell to the erstwhile secretary, Minister Khand assured of entrusting the employees with the responsibilities based on their calibre and competence.

Tek Narayan Pandey was welcomed as its secretary while Maheshwor Neupane was farewelled at the event.

During the event, Minister Khand warned, “If there are any recommendations while allocating roles and responsibilities, the outcome would be in minus. Sometimes one could get unexpected roles and responsibilities as well.”

Asserting that there will not be any compromise in regard to the national security, the Minister instructed all the employees in the line agencies to discharge their respective duties.

Urging the staff at the Ministry to work in a new style and manner rather than carrying out their day to day office duties in a traditional manner, Khand cautioned to remain aware and alert about the third wave of COVID-19 that is looming.
