Local administrations have started monitoring and action to prevent and control the Covid-19 infection. During the monitoring, action has been taken against those who do not follow the health standards. On Thursday, the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, took action against eight people for not wearing masks. Assistant Chief District Officer Deepak Poudel said that eight people were fined Rs 100 for not wearing masks.
Poudel said that monitoring was carried out in the afternoon in areas including Naya Baneshwor, Min Bhawan, and Babar Mahal. The administration team has also monitored public places and vehicles. Chief District Officer of Lalitpur Ghanshyam Upadhyaya said that the monitoring was carried out as an alert. Upadhyaya said, “Monitoring is going on continuously. Now we will strictly enforce it. ” As the risk of covid-19 increases, monitoring has been intensified in markets, bus parks, public places, hospitals, public transport, shopping malls, hotels, restaurants, canteens and offices.
Similarly, the local administration has started monitoring against black marketing, concealment of essential medicines, sale at high prices and increase in prices of food items to cover up the crisis. Chief District Officer of Bhaktapur, Rudra Devi Sharma, said that the directives issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Covid-19 Crisis Management Coordination Center (CCMC) were being strictly implemented.
