The government has formed a team to hold dialogue with senior orthopedic surgeon Dr. Govinda KC who has been on hunger strike in Dhangadhi putting forth several demands for medical sector reform.
Issuing a press release on Friday, the Spokesperson of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Mahendra Pantha informed that a team coordinated by a secretary at the OPMCM was formed to initiate dialogue with Dr. KC on his demands.
The talk team comprises secretaries of the Ministry of Health and Population and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and a representative from the Nepal Medical Association as members.
The government has urged Dr. KC to end the hunger strike and come to a dialogue table.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the health condition of Dr. KC is deteriorating of late. ---
