Kathmandu's garbage has not gone to Banchare Danda landfill site due to the lack of security.

Dhanpati Sapkota, Municipal Police Chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, said that discussions are underway to send the vehicle only after making additional security arrangements as the vehicle itself was vandalized.

Four policemen and some locals were also injured in the clash. Shrestha said that the vehicle carrying garbage was returned to Kathmandu after police failed to provide security. Representatives of the Ministry of Urban Development, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Kakani Village Municipality of Nuwakot and Dhunibesi Municipality of Dhading had agreed to dispose Kathmandu's garbage from Tuesday. But the locals had obstructed the agreement reached between the representatives of the dumping area.

According to the agreement, the permanent residents of wards 1, 3 and 4 of Dhunibesi municipality and wards 1, 2 and 3 of Kakani will start work within a week to get health insurance and the Kathmandu Metropolitan City is committed to spray chemicals.
