The government will resume its COVID-19 vaccination campaign for the elderly from Monday (June 14). The vaccines will be administered from Bir Hospital in Ratna Park, Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, Birendra Army Hospital in Chhauni and Civil Hospital in New Baneshwor.
The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Office will resume vaccination for people who are 60 and 61 years old and reside within the city. The vaccination campaign for the elderly that had been started across the country from June 8 had been halted in Kathmandu. After two days of the campaign, the KMC had issued a notice on June 10 stating that the vaccination campaign had been halted for the time being.
The government had started administering the elderly with the first dose of the China-manufactured Verocell during the campaign.
The KMC Office will be running the vaccination campaign on Monday and Tuesday. The vaccination drive will begin from 10 am till 4 pm, the Kathmandu metropolitan office has said. It has requested people who are 60 and 61 years old to visit the abovementioned hospitals for the first dose of Verocell vaccine. It has also urged medical personnel who are directly involved in the treatment of patients infected with the coronavirus to come for the first dose of the vaccine.
