KMC Mayor urges people facing health problems to contact him, local reps

Bidhya Sundar Shakya, Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has appealed to the people to contact him, the deputy mayor or the nearest local representative if they are facing a problem related to the coronavirus pandemic or any other grave problem.

Mayor Shakya has said that if any person has a health problem or needs to visit a hospital due to some ailment not related to COVID-19, then the person can contact the hotline number 1180. The other numbers that are available for such assistance are 9849856672 and 9849856671. He also urged people who have been infected by the coronavirus to call 102 for free ambulance service.

“If we are careful then we can help stop the spread of the pandemic,” said Shakya. He also appealed to the people to follow the health safety protocols that have been issued by the government. Mayor Shakya has also appealed to the people not to participate in any function or ceremony and to avoid crowded areas. “If we are responsible on our part then we will be able to manage the situation,” he added.
