Kathmandu Metropolitan City has taken out garlands and decoration for Tihar in New Road area. On Sunday morning, the metropolitan police removed the decorations outside gold and sweet shops in the area.
Metropolitan Police Chief Rajunath Pandey said that the structures that were built to make it difficult for pedestrians to walk on the footpath have been removed.
"We have removed the decorations as it was making it uncomfortable for people walking," said Pandey.
