The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has decided to administer the first dose of Vero Cell vaccine in all 32 wards tomorrow.
Those eligible for the first dose of Vero Cell vaccine include people in the age group of 40 years and above, students of class XII and university students appearing in exams. The examinees are required to produce their exam admit cards.
The meeting held among the Ministry of Health and Population, Health Department, and District Level Vaccine Coordination and Monitoring Committee on Tuesday decided to administer the first dose of Vero Cell vaccine in all 32 wards of Kathmandu Metropolitan City on Thursday.
Likewise, the meeting has also decided to administer the booster dose of the Vero Cell vaccine on Friday for those who have been vaccinated the first dose 21 days before.
The KMC's Urban Health Department Chief Hari Bahadur Kunwar in a notice said that the meeting has decided to operate the vaccination programmes by adopting health protocols through ward level vaccine coordination and monitoring committee in all 32 wards of KMC.
The citizens have been urged to be present at the vaccination booths and produce identity cards to get vaccinated.
The KMC said the COVID vaccines allocated by the Health Office, Kathmandu were not enough and also it was not likely to receive the vaccine anytime soon.
A total of 4,943,732 people have been administered the first dose of vaccines against COVID-19 in the country while 3,857,598 others have been fully vaccinated as of August 24, as per the data of the Ministry of Health and Population.
