The body of the late Satya Mohan Joshi, who contributed significantly to the preservation of Nepali literature and culture, will be kept at Kist Teaching Hospital for study. Joshi passed away today at 7:09 AM at Kist Teaching Hospital in Emadol, Lalitpur. He was 103 years old.
According to the director of the hospital Professor Dr. Suraj Bajracharya, 2 years ago, Joshi donated his body posthumously to impart practical knowledge to the students studying medical science at Kist Medical College.
He was admitted to Kist Teaching Hospital for the past 24 days due to respiratory and heart problems as well as prostate problems.
The director of the hospital, Dr. Bajracharya, said that although there was some improvement in his health during the first days of treatment, he did not feel any improvement in the last few days. The hospital had been providing continuous service by sending a medical team including nursing to his residence for a long time. During his treatment, all expenses including medicines were paid by the hospital.
