Mayor Krishna Hari Thapa had written a letter to the Home Ministry saying that the shortage of manpower in wards 7, 8 and 9 of Kageshwori has affected the peace and security. As per the demand, the ministry has written to the police headquarters to make necessary arrangements for the promotion of the division.
In a letter to Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, Deepak Gambhir Singh Rayamajhi, chairman of Fulchowki Sewa Samaj and Prakash Gambhir Singh Rayamajhi, chairman of the management committee of Fulchowki Sewa Samaj, along with the municipality had demanded increase of manpower.
Rayamajhi, a local and social worker, said that there was a problem in maintaining peace and security as limited manpower could not even patrol due to the dense and unorganized settlement. A police division was established under the leadership of Rayamajhi with the objective of maintaining law and order in the area.
After the establishment of Nageshwar Temple as an ancient heritage site in this place, a police division has been established in coordination with the Department of Archeology for its protection. Devotees throng the temple on Mondays, Saturdays and on various festivals.
