Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati on Monday inspected the domestic terminal of the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu.
Minister Kirati reached the TIA to take stock of the problems facing the passengers at the Airport which gets crowded during the festivals, according to the Minister's personal secretariat.
On the occasion, General Manager of TIA, Pratap Babu Tiwari, shared that Minister Kirati made the inspection at the Airport as a follow up on the complaints that air tickets are expensive and the shops at the airport are selling goods at unreasonably higher price.
The Minister also held discussions with the representatives from airlines companies after the complaints were rife that the air tickets were expensive during the festival.
Likewise, the airline companies have agreed to consider reducing the airfare, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation said.
During his inspection, Minister Kirati urged the shopkeepers at the TIA to maintain the Maximum Retail Price of the goods. He warned of taking action if there were complaints on the same in his next inspection.
