Parking not allowed on the new road from today

Parking on black roads in New Road area of Kathmandu is prohibited from today. Kathmandu Metropolitan City has started an effort to facilitate traffic by banning the practice of parking on the road from today. "No parking" signs are placed in places where parking is prohibited.

During this morning, the motorcycles parked in the road section in front of Bir Hospital were picked up using city police vehicles.

Senior City Police Superintendent Rajunath Pandey, head of the Metropolitan Police Force, informed that free parking facilities have been provided at Kathmandu Tower (former old bus park) to the vehicle owners who have to go to the new road. 300 four wheeler vehicles and 700 two wheeler vehicles can be parked in this place.

Earlier, there used to be vehicle parking on the road section from Dharmapath, Juddha Shalik towards Indrachok, Khichapokhari, Pyukha, Maha Baudha, and the black road around Bir Hospital.

While improving the traditional practice of parking on the road, parking has been prohibited in many places such as Bagbazar, Putlisadak, Darbarmarg and Jhonche of Kathmandu.
