The PCN has been taking action against the YouTube channels that the can violate citizen's privacy, affect adjudication on the cases sub judice in court, and further victimize the victims.
Issuing a press statement on Wednesday, the deputy administrative officer at PCN, Ram Sharan Bohara, said lately, 'Birgorkhali' YouTube channel has been recommended for action after it was found to have spread the content that are against social harmony, and religious and ethnic tolerance. With this, several YouTube channels facing PCN's action reached 34 in a year.
He informed that the 'Birgorkhali' channel had been spreading baseless accusations and invectives against political leaders including Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and leader of the chief opposition party, KP Sharma Oli. It was penalized for using hatred and invectives against political leaders.
Although it has been disseminating news daily, it was not registered in any government agency, PCN added.
