The ancestors of the Magars, who migrated from Argali of Palpa centuries ago, have established the tradition of the festival. The festival of burning husk is celebrated in Argal to commemorate the day when Khoria mine was established and farming was started.

On the occasion of the festival, besides nature worship, there are cultural activities including burning of husk, digging of imprints, death rites. In the Tarakhola area, traditional fairs and festivals like Sisno Khosne, Asare and Bhadorai are also popular. The Magar community has been carrying on the cultural tradition for hundreds of years.
