Police on Tuesday arrested seven persons allegedly involved in a sex racket in a rented apartment in Lalitpur Metropolitan City-3 of Lalitpur district.
Of the arrested, three are males while four are females. Those arrested in connection to the illegal sex business have been identified as Rajesh Agrawal (50) of Damak Municipality in Jhapa district; Lalita BK (23) of Peughat Rural Municipality-8 in Rukum; Sunil Bista (29) of Thakurbaba Municipality in Bardiya; Gita Khadgi (42) of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-3 in Makawanpur; Kristina KC (24) of Balaju in KMC-16; Nirmala Neupane (25) of Bahrabise-3 in Sindhupalchowk and, Pratik Karmacharya (33) of Panauti Municipality-7 in Kavrepalanchowk. They were found involved in the sex trade in the rented apartment at Kantipur Height in LMC-3, according to police.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of security personnel deployed from Lalitpur-based Metropolitan Police Range (MPR) arrested them, on Tuesday.
Further investigation into the case is underway after extending their custody for seven days with the permission granted by the Lalitpur District Court, informed MPR.
