TIA arrests 3 for smuggling gold hidden in rectum

Police have arrested three persons from Tribhuvan International Airport while they were smuggling gold worth Rs 10 million hidden inside the rectum. Police have recovered 1 kg 155 grams of gold and four iPhones from them.

According to Chief of the Tribhuvan International Airport Security Office, Senior Superintendent of Police Bhim Prasad Dhakal, the arrested are Sunil Kumar Sah, 32, of Gaur Municipality-10, Rautahat, Nawaraj Pariyar, 28, of Manahari, Makwanpur and Dawa Chiring Sherpa of Bhotekoshi-3, Sindhupalchowk. Among them, Sherpa had brought gold hidden inside his rectum which weighed 1 kg 55 grams.

All three were arrested on Wednesday afternoon & all necessary investigation, legal processes have been completed and it has been made public today. Sah and Pariyar came to Nepal from Dubai. Four iPhones, a 50 gram gold ring and chain have been recovered from Sah. One iPhone and two gold rings have been recovered from the same area. All three have been handed over to the customs office at Tribhuvan International Airport along with the recovered items.
