Police arrested two people on charge of behaving in an inappropriate manner with security personnel deployed at Sano Thimi in Bhaktapur on Tuesday night.

One of the arrested has been identified as Saroj KC (24), a local resident of Dhanchepakha in the same municipality while the name of the other person has not been disclosed.

They were allegedly consuming liquor and creating a lot of noise. Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Madhyapur Thimi-based Metropolitan Police Division (MPD) reached the place where the incident occurred and tried to stop them from creating a ruckus. However, the duo initially abused the police personnel verbally and then tried to physically assault them.

Meanwhile, one assistant inspector of police was injured in the incident. He has been discharged after receiving treatment at Thimi-based Korean Hospital.

Further investigation into the case is underway, informed MPD, Bhaktapur.
