Two held with leopard skin in Kathmandu

Police arrested two men in possession of leopard skin in Swoyambhu, Kathmandu Metropolitan-15. on Friday morning.

The arrested have been identified as Sushil Kumar Waiba (32) of Sir Tole, Marin Rural Municipality-3 and Kanchharam Waiba (34) of Amale, Thanglekh Rural Municipality-1, both the rural municipality in Sindhuli district.

They were allegedly trying to sell the leopard skin at Rs 600,000. Acting on a tip-off, a team deployed from Minbhawan-based Metropolitan Crime Division (MCD) arrested them along with the skin. 

Further investigation into the case is underway, informed MCD. They will be tried under the National Park and Wildlife Act 1973, said police.
