The District Administration Offices of Kathmandu Valley — Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur — have been preparing to extend the prohibitory period by one week. It has been learnt that the prohibitory order will be eased further.
The government has been planning to change the modality of the prohibitory order after the current one ends at midnight on June 21. There have been some relaxations during the current prohibitory order. Earlier, the meeting of the Executive Committee of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC) held on June 16 had decided to impose a ‘smart lockdown’ by maintaining the safety parameters but easing the production and supply of essential goods.
The Chief District Officers (CDOs) of the valley will hold a meeting to decide on the modality of the prohibitory order Sunday following the District Covid-19 Crisis Management Center (DCCMC) meeting.
It has been learnt that wholesale, fancy stores, shops selling kitchenwares will be allowed to operate every day within the stipulated time mentioned in the order. Likewise, the restaurants and café will be allowed to operate allowing take away or home delivery service. It has been predicted that the administration will allow the vehicles on the basis of the odd-even rule.
