Spread over an area of about 50 ropanis, a vegetable market has been opened in Suryabinayak.
Entrepreneur Durga Prasai has run 'Suryabinayak Green and Agriculture Wholesale Vegetable Market'. There are 2,200 booths in the market. The market has been set up with the objective of providing employment to 4,400 people and providing vegetables to the consumers at reasonable prices by purchasing them from local farmers, said Prasai.
"The vegetable market has been set up to give fair payments to the farmers and end the system where the middlemen are making up to 50 percent profit," he said. He claims that more than 10,000 farmers will benefit from the establishment of the vegetable market.
