The traffic lights have been installed at the main entrance of Tribhuvan International Airport with financial support from Yeti Airlines.
The private airline company installed three modern lights at the Golden Gate of the sole international airport through a social responsibility programme.
Anoj Rimal, Chief Executive Officer at Yeti Airlines, and Metropolitan Traffic Police Division Chief, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Janak Bhattarai jointly inaugurated the light today.
On the occasion, SSP Bhattarai said the traffic police have prioritised the installation of the lights at intersections in Kathmandu valley in order to keep the traffic well managed and disciplined. He said the traffic lights are expected to ease traffic management and help drivers exercise discipline.
Likewise, Rimal, said that Yeti Airlines has installed traffic lights at the main entrance of the airport under its social responsibility program.
Anjan Budgami, administrative director of the airline, said that airlines would continue such work in the coming days.
Tekraj Adhikari, a ward member of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-9, said that it was commendable to put such a sign in the place where foreign tourists go out and expressed his commitment to work for its protection and continuity.
Rimal handed over the traffic signal light control switch to the SSP.
