Youth Chef Competition to explore Nepali food

A youth Chef competition is to be organized to further explore Nepali food at the international level. Chef Association of Nepal in collaboration with Global Nepalese Chef Federation and International Nepali Chef Society is going to organize a Youth Chef Competition on Sunday. President of the Federation, Laxman Prasad Bhandari informed that students of Hotel Management from 11 colleges in the Kathmandu Valley will participate in the competition.

He informed that students from Gate, Shubhshree, NCCA, Culinary Arts, Ritz, Golden Gate, Quest, Nesfield and Himalayan White House College as well as Padma Kanya Campus and Saraswati Campus would participate in the competition to be held at the conference hall of Lalitpur Culinary and Hospitality Management Academy.

The international observers of the competition will be BBC Master Chef Santosh Shah, Chef Alex Webb, Chef Bart Van Derley and Chef Philly, while the national observers will be Surya Kiran Shrestha and Shyam Lama along with Chef Bhandari.

Students who have graduated in Hotel Management will also be able to participate in the competition. The aim of this competition  is to encourage the young Chefs and inculcating positive thoughts towards Nepali food. The first place winner will be awarded Rs 100,000, second place winner Rs 50,000 and third place winner Rs 25,000.
