On the day of Janaipurnima, on Monday morning, Pandits and priests take Shravani Snan (Ganasnan) at the holy place Devghat. In Ganasnan, priests chanting Sankalp and mantras and applying Panchagavya, Bhasma, Saptamrittika, Apamarga etc. to the body. After bathing, there is a tradition of chanting Janai and Rakshabandhan thread by Vedic Rudrabhishek method.
