While visiting Kumarighar on September 6, Sadhguru said, "In last 1500 years, feminine deity has been largely demolished and divinity has largely turned into masculine around the world. In 21st century, I believe there are only 3 countries that worship feminine deities. India, Bali, and Nepal follow and worship feminine deities. And talking about Nepal, they worship a living goddess, ‘Kumari'."

Historical reference for the living deity comes from the time when Goddess Taleju Bhawani visited the then King of Kantipur, Jay Prakash Malla, and played tripasa, a dice game together. However, one day when the king passed some inappropriate comments towards the Goddess, it made her furious and she left immediately.

Before she left, she told the king to look for her in the Shakya family if he sought forgiveness as she would be reincarnated there. So now it is believed that the goddess reincarnates as Kumari.

Sadhguru arrived in Kathmandu to promote Nepal's tourism amid COVID-19 on August 21.
