Major temples to visit in Tokha

Tokha is a historic, cultural, and religiously significant village with many tales woven into its 'gullies'. This ancient community, located five kilometers from Budhanilkantha, maintains its historical origins while progressing towards modernization, with education assisting in its development. Tokha is famed for its various temples and festivities in addition to its excellent Chaku. To the north, we have Chandeswori Temple, the most well-known temple in the area, which attracts a large number of visitors, particularly during festivals.

The Famous Chandeshwari Temple is located in Tokha Municipality of Kathmandu district. This temple is situated in a very beautiful place full of natural beauty near Shivpuri hill and forest. On the right side of this Chandeshwari Temple, there are idols of Ganesha and Goddess and on the left side, there is the magnificent temple of Muskasheshwar Mahadev. There is also a large statue of Kali Mata on the premises. The temple also has a tradition that has newlyweds visiting its premises on the fourth day of their marriage.

On the first day of the Nepali calendar (Baisakh 1), a large number of people line up to take a dip in a heavenly lake in Tokha, Kathmandu, and locals observe the 'Sapan Tirtha Mela,' during which the entire town participates in the festival with a 'rath yatra' (chariot ride), supplications, and fests for the next four days. The water in the lake is thought to have healing capabilities, and people bathe there to get rid of their ailments and make an offering to Goddess Sapana Tirtha.
