Expo 2020 Dubai concludes

In a special ceremony, the Nepali Ambassador Krishna Prasad Dhakal and United Arab Emirates Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation  Yousef Al Hosani addressed the gathering.

He said that the relationship between the two countries has enhanced due to the expo. The two discussed the contribution of nearly two and a half million Nepali workers working in the UAE's economic development as well.

At the beginning of Nepal Day, with the participation of the Nepali delegation and hundreds of Nepali community working in Dubai, the Nepali organizer Implementing Expert Group (IEG) appointed by the Government of Nepal for the expo pulled a small chariot of Machhendranath along with a statue of Machhedranath from Nepal to pray for rain in Dubai.

Launched on October 1, 2021, a year late due to COVID, Expo 2020 Dubai is represented by 192 nations and more than 50 international organizations. According to the organizers, the Nepali pavilion, which showcases Nepali art and culture, has so far welcomed around 1.7 million spectators at the six-month-long expo under the slogan 'Prosperous Future through Mutual Contact and Relationship'.
