Heavy rains and ensuing flash floods have injured six in Afghanistan's eastern Laghman province, Provincial Director for Natural Disaster Management and Humanitarian Affairs Qari Khair Mohammad Ghazi said Saturday.
Heavy rains, which triggered flash floods Friday night in Mehtarlam, the capital of Laghman, have injured six persons, including children and women, Ghazi said, adding that 25 homes have been damaged or demolished by the floods.
The floods also damaged or destroyed 800 acres of farmlands, he said.
Afghan meteorological authorities have forecasted more rains with heavy wind and flooding in the next two days in parts of the war-torn country.
