Indonesia volcano eruption death toll reaches 34

The previously reported death toll has been updated from 13 to 34, due to the after-effects of a volcanic eruption.

At least 34 people have been killed in a volcanic eruption in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Saturday. Another 17 people are missing after the eruption, according to local media. The eruption took place last Saturday in the Lumajang district in the eastern part of Indonesia's Java province. The locals have been badly affected by this. They are said to have died while fleeing from the ash of the volcano.

About 3,700 people have been evacuated from the affected areas. Searching for survivors and bodies in volcanic debris, collapsed buildings, and wrecked vehicles, rescuers are battling a dangerous situation. The search team had deployed dogs to assist in the operation on Tuesday.
