Afghan counter-narcotics police destroyed a drug processing lab and arrested four people on the charge of involvement in the drug business in north Afghanistan's Samangan province, said a statement of the provincial police headquarters on Monday.
Acting on a tip-off, the police launched operations in the Dara-i-Sof district of Samangan province on Sunday, the statement said, adding that police have taken four people in custody for investigation.
The police personnel have also uncovered a massive quantity of materials used in manufacturing heroin from the sites of operations and possessions of the arrested men during operations, the statement further said.
In a similar crackdown, Afghan counter-narcotics police destroyed a drug lab in the southern Uruzgan province on Friday.
