Police have discovered and destroyed two drug processing labs in south Afghanistan's Uruzgan province, said a statement of the provincial police headquarters on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, police launched operations in Chahar Chino district of Uruzgan province on Friday. They unearthed a drug processing lab along with a massive quantity of materials and objects used in manufacturing heroin, and smashed them on the spot, the statement said.
The statement did not mention if anyone had been arrested.
In a similar crackdown, police destroyed a drug lab in the same district on Thursday.
The Afghan caretaker government has vowed to fight against poppy cultivation and opium trade in the war-torn country.
