The second flight carrying as many as 235 Indian nationals from Israel landed in New Delhi on Saturday, confirmed officials in the federal government.

India's Junior External Affairs Minister Rajkumar Ranjan Singh welcomed the Indian nationals at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on their arrival.

The move was part of the "Operation Ajay" initiative, which was launched on Thursday, to bring back Indians stranded in war-torn Israel.

The first flight with over 200 Indians had landed in the Indian capital on Friday.

According to official sources, there are around 18,000 Indians living in Israel.

Indian ambassador in Tel Aviv, Sanjeev Singla, on Thursday stated that the Indian embassy there was working to ensure the safety and well-being of Indian nationals.

Meanwhile, the external affairs ministry has set up a 24-hour control room in New Delhi in view of the escalating conflict to help monitor the situation in Israel, and provide information and assistance to the Indian nationals stuck there.
