Nepal reports 53 new COVID cases

The country recorded 53 new COVID-19 cases with no infection-related casualty in the past 24 hours. The infection rate is decreasing as compared to the latest figure, said the Ministry of Health and Population. The caseloads were from the total 2,624 tests (RT-PCR 825 and antigen 1,799).

So far, the number of recovery cases was 986,419 with 84 during the same period. The death toll from the deadly virus hit 12,017. The recovery rate was 98.7 percent and mortality rate 1.2 percent. Active infection cases reached 1,178. At present, 1,130 infected people have been in home-isolation, and 48 in institution-isolation.

 Similarly, 10 have been admitted to intensive care units. None was administered COVID-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours, said the Ministry. The districts having recorded zero infection cases are Taplejung, Tehrathum, Sindhuli, Manang, Mustang, Myagdi, Humla, Dolpa, Kalikot, Rukum East, Jajarkot, Dailekh, Mugu and Darchula.
