Baitadi children administered Moderna vaccines

About 39,000 children in Baitadi above 12 years of age have been vaccinated against coronavirus since Tuesday.

Harish Prasad Bhat, information officer at the health office, said that the government has directed to conduct a vaccination campaign for children in different districts of the country.

The campaign started targeting children in the age group of 12 to 17 years will end on December 26. Vaccination has been started in schools of Purchaudi Municipality, Sigas, and Dilashani villages of the district from Tuesday. The campaign will be conducted at these three local levels till December 23.

The campaign will be operated in Dasharathchanda, Patan Municipality, Shivnath, Pancheshwor Municipality from 22 to 24 December, Melauli Municipality, Dogadakedar Municipality from 8 to 10 January, and Surnaya Municipality from 24 to 26 December.

There are 38,812 children of that age group in Baitadi and a vaccination campaign is being conducted for them by setting up vaccination centers in different schools. Chief of the Health Office Baitadi, Yogesh Prasad Bhat informed that the campaign will be launched by establishing 259 vaccination centers in the district.

The second dose should be given within 28 days after the first dose of the Moderna vaccine. In Baitadi, more than 75,000 people have so far been fully vaccinated against coronavirus. The first dose of the vaccine was given to 89,984 people. The government has also requested to vaccinate all the citizens who failed to get vaccinated earlier.
