Free PCR testing for dengue

The Ministry of Health and Population has started free PCR testing for Zika, Dengue and Chikungunya diseases.

 Joint Spokesperson of the Ministry Dr. Sameer Kumar Adhikari informed that free PCR test has been started from the National Public Health Laboratory. He urged people with symptoms to be tested.

 Earlier, corona virus infection was also tested for free. Rajesh Gupta, spokesperson of the laboratory, said that the PCR test is done free of cost after the recommendation of the patients and doctors from abroad.

 All three diseases are transmitted by mosquito bites. Symptoms include sudden onset of fever, fatigue, severe joint pain, nausea, and headache and muscle aches.

 It is recommended to sleep with a hammock in the afternoon, put a net on the window and door of the house, wear long sleeved clothes whenever possible, use incense or ointment to repel mosquitoes.
